FC Nantes has officially announced the return of Michel Der Zakarian, on a two-year contract, until the end of the 2027-2028 season. The 59-year-old Armenian coach, trained at the club from the age of 15 and French champion in 1983 as a player, will try to regain the elite with the Canaries. Between his various experiences at Reims, Brest, Caen and especially at Montpellier HSC, Michel Der Zakarian has supervised recruitments with a total amount exceeding 46 million euros, for an average of close to 4.7 million per operation. The most significant investments were made at Montpellier, with players like Téji Savanier, who arrived from Nîmes in 2019 for 9.5 million euros. The Hérault club has eight of the ten most expensive transfers associated with the coach. And now, Der Zakarian will have to cope with presumably more measured means to relaunch the dynamics of FC Nantes. The supporters of the Loire-Atlantique club are eagerly awaiting the first results of the team under the direction of their new coach. But for now, the 10 most expensive recruits in Der Zakarian's CV are the focus of all attention. So here are the details of these recruitments: Téji Savanier, from Nîmes Olympique to Montpellier Hérault SC, for 9.5 million euros, Stephy Mavididi, from Juventus U23 to Montpellier Hérault SC, for 6.3 million euros. FC Nantes is counting on Der Zakarian to regain its former glory.
